Students in the Wildlife and Fisheries class learn first hand what it is like to operate a working fishery. This year students will be raising channel catfish, hybrid bluegill and crappie. Students make all management decisions for the recirculating aquaculture system and even have designed and developed an aquaponics system to support the growing of fish. Water quality and fish health are important aspects of the daily management of this operation.
The project is a partnership with Southern Aquatic Fish Farms out of Marysville, Ohio.
